McIlwain School Bus Lines, Inc. (MSBL) is honored to specialize in contract school bus service in western Pennsylvania since 1947. We provide comprehensive methods of pupil transportation to help alleviate the workload of district administrators. Our in-house programs assist in routing buses, updating and maintaining bus schedules for immediate viewing or printing, and tracking monthly mileage for reimbursement. We also staff certified and professional drivers who make the safety of your children their foremost responsibility.
MSBL is committed to operating out of locations in or near the school district. This approach is a benefit to the district because it saves both mileage and fuel.

Special Needs Transportation
Throughout our years of service, we have seen an increased necessity for special needs transportation. MSBL has never been more prepared to handle this ever changing aspect of our business. We will work directly with the school district to help determine the vehicle that is best equipped to transport your students. Our special needs vehicles are designed to lift and secure wheel chairs and are generally much more maneuverable than other school buses. They utilize booster seats and car seats as necessary to meet the needs of our students. The advantage is that they still carry the same high level of safety.

Maintenance Service
Our Mission is to provide a comprehensive preventative maintenance inspection program to keep the school bus fleet running safely, economically, and efficiently.
Our goal is to ensure the safest transportation possible with no road breakdowns.
Preventative Maintenance is a crucial part of our business, so we utilize each and every resource to properly and effectively manage our fleet. Each bus meets both Federal and State Standards and requirements. Supervisors and qualified mechanics review daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection reports and immediately fix any issue that may result in the course of a school day.
Our school buses require a Pennsylvania State Police inspection and a semi-annual vehicle inspection. McIlwain School Bus Lines, Inc. utilizes cutting edge software that tracks everything from brake wear to lubrication services to properly sustain a safe and mission-capable fleet.
